Beetle - fly No. 1 in boxes of "chub". Thanks to the material from which the beetle (foam) is made, the fly is practically unsinkable, it is possible to catch without replacing the fly for a very long time, more often the fly does not live up to the replacement and remains in the mouth of a frisky chub capable of tearing off the leash during a swift attack on the bait. If most of the dry flies need to be very carefully put on the water, then you should not stand on ceremony with the beetle, on the contrary, the fly must be literally “driven” into the water, and then the chub will not take long to wait.
The best places to fish for a beetle are under trees hanging over the water, near aquatic vegetation. The beetle fishing season begins with the departure of the May beetle (beetle) and ends in September-October. A characteristic pattern is that the closer to the end of the fishing season, the smaller the beetle the fish prefers. Not only the chub bites well on the beetle, but also, of course, the trout. Other fish species also do not miss such a tidbit, there are repeated cases of a small pike-grass beetle.
