Tail: feather barbs from the scalp of a rooster
Body: turkey feather beard (primary or tail feather), color - red
Body wrapping: wire 0.1 mm, color - copper or gold
Wing: CDC duck feather, color - gray
Imitation of an adult mayfly. Mayfly imitations are very catchy. During the period of the mass departure of this insect, almost all fish switch to feeding on mayflies, and do not respond to any other baits. A special feature of this fly is the wing made of CDC feathers. This is a waterfowl feather that grows near the fatty glands, it has a natural fat impregnation and therefore keeps well on the water. In addition, delicate feathers in sunlight give the effect of transparency and this makes the fly wing look as realistic as possible.
