Biot - a wedge-shaped, hard and short beard with a "narrow" side (in relation to the spine) of the first, second or third primary feather of the first order of a goose, turkey or other large bird. An established term, often found in the name of the fly.
Tails, legs, fly antennas are made from "biots", and they are also used to make artificial flies bodies. In this case, biotas from a split goose fly feather are offered, painted in different colors.
